Mauway is one of the twenty-seven barrios in the Municipality of Mandaluyong, province of Rizal, where the name of the school has been adopted.
During the first term of Mayor Benjamin S. Abalos, Sr., he initiated the changing of the name Mauway Elementary School to Pedro P. Cruz Elementary School in honor of the late Mayor Pedro P. Cruz by the virtue of Kautusan Blg. 120-T-1993 as approved by Sangguniang Bayan ng Mandaluyong because he served twice as Mayor from 1941-1946 ang 1956-1959.
The school offers three (3) curricula
K to 12 Enhancement Basic Curriculum Program with Restructured Basic Education Curriculum (RBEC)
Special Education Program (SPED) this program is intended for pupils who have physical, intellectual and behavioural disabilities for them to socialize with others as well as to learn the fundamental and functional skills.
Alternative learning System is laddered, modular non-formal education program for dropouts and out-of-school youths. In ALS Accreditation and Equivalency Test offers successful test takers certification of learning achievements at two learning levels, that is elementary and secondary, comparable to the formal school.
